Friday May 4 02:46pmTake a second and think about the one thing that promotes attraction the most. I’ll give you a hint. The answer is not physical looks, wealth, having things in common, or even the person’s personality. I know, it’s crazy right? The answer is actually proximity. Study after study finds that most people tend to become attracted to people who are physically close to them. The theory is called the mere-exposure effect (or in social psychology, the familiarity principle), and it states that we tend to become attracted to a novel stimuli if it was repeated over and over again. I am sure you once saw a very attractive person who caught your attention while passing by your car, then you never saw him/her again. Why do most people forget about that very attractive person a few days later? Simply because they never see that person again. If the stimuli wasn’t reinforced we tend to forget about it even if we liked it. It really is true. Just talking to someone a lot can do so much. You may not even see it coming. But If you spend a considerable amount of time with someone, you could be friends one day, and before you know it, you’ve completely fallen head over heels in love with each other. Maybe this has happened to you. You can’t fight it, but why would you want to? It’s a beautiful thing, really.

“Husbands and wives should have separate interests, cultivate different sets of friends and not impose on the other. You can’t spend a lifetime breathing down each other’s necks. We are very, very different people and yet somehow we fed off those varied differences and instead of separating us, it has made the whole bond a lot stronger.” - Paul Newman

Rachel: random but CM is engaged…
(I proceed to search on Facebook)
Susan: Whoa to JC?! If you told those two people that they would end up getting married when they were in high school, they would have laughed in our faces!
Rachel: Righttttt? Crazyyyy
Susan: So crazy. Now, I’m just wondering who the hell I’m going to end up with. Damn.
(side note: these two people went to the same high school as us and they were in two completely different cliques and never were even acquaintances)
This guy dated one of the prettiest, smartest and highly-motivated girl in high school, yet he treated her like crap back then. And he’s done it to more than one girl too. And don’t get me wrong, the girl he’s engaged to is not bad either…
“Someone Like You” | Adele
If there was anyone’s voice that I could have, it would be Adele’s.
Her voice is fantastic and when she sings, she has so much passion/emotion — so much soul. The lyrics make my heart simply ache.
I am still in awe envious that she is only 22 and how talented she is.
“If you’ve ever had a broken heart, you’re about to remember it now.”
